Central Saint Martins Fashion Student, A Class Leo & a visage like melted rose petals.
She'll go skinny dipping with you but only if it's in chocolate.
Samantha! Hi! Would you mind telling us a bit about yourself?
I really like looking at photos of botanical fruits and vegetables, eggs and picking apart men’s suit jackets.
Who is your style icon?
I don’t have a style icon because I don’t believe in the word “style”. I feel like like it’s associated with something static rather than a transitional moment in life that can change infinite times.
Samantha, you recently studied the Fashion Folio course at Central Saint Martins. Tell us about your experience.
It was a great course for me to really start doing what I love. My tutors were great guides but from a distance because they let me work by myself and figure out the problems my work had and find solutions.
I really believe it’s better than any Foundation course because it teaches you life skills like time management, dealing with stress and believing in your ideas. Patrick is such an inspirational person that really cares about his students.
Which emerging talents are you into at the moment?
I change my mind everyday on who I like. I don’t feel like there’s much ground breaking design going on, there’s just too many brands started by people that think fashion is about becoming famous and rich. However I’m a big supporter of fellow struggling students that graduate each year.
Have you ever been skinny dipping?
No I haven’t but I would if it was in chocolate.
Whether it's a designer, model, musician, space cowboy, travelling gypsy... who would you most like to collaborate with next and how?
I’d love to COLLABORATE with a ceramic maker or actually any artisan, even a lab scientist. I feel as in the fashion world these kind of people are regularly exploited and don’t get credit for their work and the designer gets all the credit. I think that is definitely something that should change. I’d also like to collaborate with the South African weavebird, they make the most beautiful cocoon-nests.
What are your party essentials?
Cute boys, cinnamon, my friend from Milan, Viola.
Best party ever?
Not sure because my favourite part of a party is the before and after. However I had so much fun on my 17th birthday in a beach club where I was the youngest one and had to escape from security guards the whole night.
Local hangout?
Roaming Hoxton or in someones car driving around Milan.
Top party tip?
To get in for free anywhere just say you're going in for a quick drink, don’t make too much eye contact as it can get you in loads of trouble!
What's up next for you in 2018?
I’m starting my Womenswear BA so loads of private parties with my sewing machine are soon to come. I’m so happy I still don’t sleep if I think about it.

Maria recently held her first solo show in Germany and does collaborations with FENDI & Wonderland.
A cosmic hooligan with a loathing for routine, you can usually find her slurping neat vodka, encapsulated in a wrath of exorbitant glad-rags.
